The TOX-108 is an ADAT® optical to optoXLer® digital signal converter. The inputs and outputs are rated as optical (Toslink) and XLR connections, with the device operating in bi-directional mode so that 8 input and output signals can be transmitted simultaneously. TOX-108 intervenes actively in the ADAT® format. The input signal is received first of all and then reconstructed by an integrated PLL component, minimising the jitter which can be critical when converting multiple signals. Together with optoXLer® plugs it can be used for electrical/optical signal conversion to fiber 50/62,5/125µm for distances of up to 1500m. The system can be used to convert ADAT® plastic optical fibers (POF) to "real" fiber (GI). By removing the limit of approx. 7 m for ADAT® signals, it now opens up completely new possibilities.
